Meet Team Members

Tania Amaral, PMP

With over 10 years of experience in the settlement sector working primarily with newcomers, Tania heads the PrepCan team. She started her career straight out of University, where she earned her Honours B.A. in Psychology. Her previous projects include developing and launching a website for Canadian Citizenship preparation. She has sat on several Steering Committees and is passionate about social development. Tania earned her PMP certification in 2014 and is also a Mediator and Conflict Resolution Workshop Facilitator.

Krisztina Kelemen

As a compassionate and caring professional, Krisztina brings over 10 years of experience in human resources, recruitment and employment consulting for immigrant settlement programs in Canada. As an immigrant having moved to Canada from Europe 7 years ago, Krisztina knows all the barriers and hardships foreign-born people go through when moving to a new country. She holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Europe as well as a Certification in Career Coaching from the International Association of Professions Career College. She is passionate about empowering newcomers with knowledge, skills and information to help them face any challenges with a positive attitude. Krisztina is a mother of two, and she enjoys travelling and outdoor activities with her family.

Heather Brothers

Heather Brothers has worked in employment services for over 10 years in roles ranging from Employment Consultant, Job Developer, Workshop Facilitator, College Instructor, and Program Coordinator. Her passion is assisting individuals with their personal,  professional development, and search for work. She began her career right out of George Brown College, Career and Work Counsellor Program and has worked with newcomers, women, adults and youth. Heather is also a certified Hatha Yoga Instructor, Life Skills and Health and Wellness Coach which she dabbles in her spare time. She is excited to work with the PrepCan team and offer career services virtually.

Mona Ali

Mona has 9 years of combined experience in the Education, Settlement, and Employment Counselling fields. She earned her B.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Toronto and her Career and Work Counselling diploma from George Brown College. With a passion for working with and learning from newcomers, she strives to facilitate their settlement and integration process and open up better access to opportunities. Mona enjoys meeting people and learning new skills; from pottery to beekeeping her interests and experiences enrich her life every day.


Zain Ameen

Zain Ameen is an internationally trained I.T. professional, specialized in using Content Management Systems, Search Engine Optimization, and Social Media Marketing to develop and design websites and mobile applications. As a lifelong learner and Webmaster who is keen on knowledge sharing, he has also taught Computer Science, Databases, and Networks at the secondary and post-secondary levels before joining the PrepCan team. Zain is highly motivated to use his problem-solving and I.T. management skills, knowledge of graphic design, and website development experience to support and empower newcomers to Canada.
